Still hating

With impeccable timing, David Kaspar and John Rosenthal chart the rise of anti-Americanism in Germany. From the May issue of metall, the monthly magazine of Germany’s largest union:

The plunderers are here
“Blackstone, KKR, Investcorp – finance investors from America are slaughtering German companies. They buy the companies, only to sell them a bit later for profit. The American investors don’t show any consider-ation for people, regions or traditions. Like flies they suck the money out of companies, then swarm out, repeating the same pattern. People are the ones who suffer.”

Which sounds depressingly familiar—particularly in a week that marked 60 years since the end of the Second World War.
