Genocide

Childhood in Israel … and Lebanon:

I don’t think U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbour was thinking of Hezbollah when she said:

“[T]he bombardment of sites with alleged military significance, but resulting invariably in the killing of innocent civilians, is unjustifiable”.
“International humanitarian law is clear on the supreme obligation to protect civilians during hostilities. This obligation is also expressed in international criminal law, which defines war crimes and crimes against humanity”.
“International law demands accountability. The scale of the killings in the region, and their predictability, could engage the personal criminal responsibility of those involved, particularly those in a position of command and control”.

Yeah, I can really see Israel being held accountable for the atrocities it is committing against civilians throughout Lebanon.

The images of war are never pretty. But the images a journalist chooses can sway the minds of millions. Israeli Children smiling and perhaps writing "Death to tyrants" on tank shells while contrastingly, Lebanese children lay dead.
No war is pretty but are some necessary, do we the non combatents wonder if diplomatic solutions were all too easily over looked?
Well speaking on a purely personal level, I say Well done Israel. To many societies are appeasement societies. It's about time a nation had no worries about world opinion and pictures demonstrating the horrors of war. It's also about time someone turned around and kicked Hezbollah's proverbial ass!
War is not pretty or heroic. War makes innocents suffer and die as much as the guilty, but it's thanks to hezbollah that their own people suffer.
We are still very much a barbaric species despite what the bleeding heart liberals would have us all believe as they dream of the high road.
